At Pewsey Primary, we value, recognise and support every child. The Rainbow Room is our dedicated support space—a calm and welcoming environment where children can pause, regain emotional balance, build confidence, and develop the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.

 

The Rainbow Room reflects our core values—Ready, Respectful and Safe—by supporting children’s emotional and social development in a setting where they feel confident, included, and proud to be part of the school community.

What is the Rainbow Room?

 

The Rainbow Room is a calm, quiet environment designed to:

  • Support children’s emotional wellbeing and mental health
  • Promote positive behaviour and effective communication
  • Offer a space for self-regulation and reflection
  • Help build resilience and confidence
  • Encourage readiness to learn and succeed in the classroom

Children may access the Rainbow Room on a regular basis, in response to a specific need, or as part of an individualised plan. For some, it acts as a motivating space, while others may use it for support during more challenging times.
